What are Colombians?

Colombian (Psilocybe cubensis var. Colombiescens) is a South American cubensis variety known for its sturdy, meaty mushrooms with golden-brown to caramel-colored caps and thick stems. This strain produces a concentrated, intense trip that builds slowly and is less immediately overwhelming in terms of visuals, but more potent in terms of mental clarity, creativity, and philosophical depth.

Unlike milder strains such as Thai or Mexican, Colombian offers a deeper, more vivid experience that heightens perception. Cultivation is relatively simple and forgiving. A 1200 cc kit yields an average of 300–400 grams of fresh mushrooms over 2–3 flushes at 20–25 °C. Store the kit in a cool place (2–4 °C) until use for optimal shelf life (up to approximately 6 months).

History of the Colombian

The Colombian strain originates from the tropical and subtropical regions of Colombia, where indigenous communities have long used psychedelic mushrooms for spiritual and medicinal purposes. The country’s rich biodiversity has given rise to this robust, potent variety.

In the modern cultivation community, this strain was selected for its intense effects, reliable growth, and good yields. Ready-to-grow kits have made the strain accessible to home growers worldwide, while preserving its distinctive concentrated and philosophical qualities. Today, Colombian is valued as a bridge between traditional South American practices and contemporary psychedelic exploration.

How do you use Colombian?

Growing is easy and suitable for beginners. Wash your hands thoroughly, clean the outside of the kit, and fill it with lukewarm water (20 °C). Let it soak for up to 5 minutes (never longer than 1 hour). Drain thoroughly, let it drain for 10 seconds, place the kit in the growing bag, add 200–250 ml of lukewarm water, and seal with the paper clips.

Place the bag in a location with a temperature of 20–25 °C, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Keep the bag closed until the first pinheads appear (usually 10–20 days). After that, ventilate daily and lightly mist. Harvest just before the veil under the cap breaks by gently twisting the mushroom and pulling it out completely. Repeat the process for subsequent flushes.

When consumed: start with a low dose (cubensis dosage).

• Mild high: ± 1 g dried
• Typical dose: 1.5–2.5 g
• Stronger trip: 2.5–3.5 g

Ingredients of Colombian

The grow kit contains a fully colonized substrate (nutrient-rich, made from grain, vermiculite, and perlite), a grow bag with air filters, and paper clips. The mycelium has been selected for the classic Colombian genetics. No artificial additives. The mushrooms naturally produce psilocybin and psilocin.
