What are B+s?

B+ is a classic, robust cubensis variety that stands out primarily for its large, caramel- to golden-brown caps and thick, sturdy stems (sometimes up to 20–30 cm tall). The name “B+” (Be Positive) refers to the warm, cheerful, and social atmosphere the trip often brings: laughter, a sense of connection, and colorful visuals with a mild spiritual undertone.

This strain is exceptionally forgiving of minor cultivation mistakes, grows quickly, and produces high yields. A 1200 cc kit yields an average of 300–400 grams of fresh mushrooms over 2–3 flushes at 20–25 °C. Ideal for anyone who wants to grow large, beautiful mushrooms with an accessible, positive experience. Store the kit in a cool place (2–4 °C) until use (shelf life of up to approximately 6 months).

History of the B+

The exact origin of B+ is somewhat of a mystery. The strain appeared in the cultivation community in the 1990s and quickly became popular due to its hardiness, high yield, and tolerant nature. It was likely developed by growers who were looking for a ’bigger and better“ cubensis that would also perform well under less-than-ideal conditions.

How do you use the B+?

Growing is simple and beginner-friendly. Wash your hands thoroughly, clean the outside of the kit, and fill it with lukewarm water (20 °C). Let it soak for up to 5 minutes (never longer than 1 hour). Drain thoroughly, let it drain for 10 seconds, place the kit in the growing bag, add 200–250 ml of lukewarm water, and seal with the paper clips.

Place the bag in a location with a temperature of 20–25 °C, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Keep the bag closed until the first pinheads appear (usually 10–20 days). After that, ventilate daily and lightly mist. Harvest just before the veil under the cap breaks by gently twisting the mushroom and pulling it out completely. Repeat the process for subsequent flushes.

When consumed: start with a low dose (cubensis dosage).

Ingredients of B+

The grow kit contains a fully colonized substrate (nutrient-rich, made from grain, vermiculite, and perlite), a grow bag with air filters, and paper clips. The mycelium has been selected for the classic B+ genetics. No artificial additives. The mushrooms naturally produce psilocybin and psilocin.
