Origin and History of Kratom

Mitragyna speciosa grows in the humid lowlands of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and surrounding areas. For generations, local communities have used the fresh or dried leaves during long workdays and at social gatherings. This use involved the entire leaf, either chewed or consumed as a beverage, as part of regional botanical knowledge and not as a modern commercial product.

Western interest came later, when botanists described the tree and dried specimens were shipped around the world. Powders followed, and then concentrated forms that offer the same plant species in a smaller, denser format. This packaging belongs to that later chapter: the same Southeast Asian leaf, prepared in a more compact form.

That extra-strong potency is the reason why the package is small, why the first dose must be very low, and why the daily maximum of 1 gram must never be exceeded.

Ingredients

The only ingredient is Mitragyna speciosa, the Southeast Asian tree whose leaves have been processed into this 15x concentrated powder. The 2-gram package contains only this plant material: no added flavorings and no filler plants.

The tree belongs to the coffee family and grows as a tall, tropical evergreen tree. After harvesting, the leaves are dried and concentrated. Because the material is stronger, differences between batches play a greater role—yet another reason to start with a very low dose.
